Net Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve final table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best gamblers around the world. While playing internet poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus often participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the game with the min buy in.
Buying in for the min takes a majority of the skill out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amount. I think tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players in the world could be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found betting on online poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in big stakes omaha hi-low and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
