Four of Poker’s Great Guys
Beyond a doubt millions of people are trying to be the next "star" in poker, but here is a short list of 4 of the more well known "nice players" of poker. Although "nice" is associated with their names when you are sitting accross the table from them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have put you out of the game!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his tourney payouts amounted to in the region of four and a half million dollars and he attained 2 highly respected awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tourney Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel still has the humility to talk to his fans about how they can improve their own game.
Howard Lederer
Known as "The Professor" and sibling of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His success has allowed him to make an educational poker video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox. As of Two Thousand and Five, his complete life earnings surpass $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty is one of the busiest players in professional poker and between 2000 to 2004 he finished in the money in excess of one hundred tournaments. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker games and also coined the phrase "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad defeat. As of 2006, his career earnings are almost six million dollars.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has won 5 World Series of Poker titles with 2 of his wins happening in 2003. Has the alias "Jesus" as a result of his characteristic long hair and beard, and is able to throw playing cards quick enough to cut through bananas and pickles. As of Two Thousand and Five his total live poker tourney winnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
