No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker contender on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of one. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup anything he could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the negative comments from other people destroy his ambition of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
Phil began playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He knows he makes errors every single session of poker and constantly strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
