4 of Poker’s Charming Players
No Joke, millions and millions of players strive to be the next "big-time thing" in poker, but here is a short list of four of the more noteworthy "great players" of the game. Although "nice" is associated with their names when you are facing them it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" until they have put you out of the game!
Daniel Negreanu
In Two Thousand and Four, his tournament winnings added up to more than $4.4 million and he came away with 2 highly admired awards in the World Series of Poker Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Competition Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was appointed Card Player’s Favourite Poker Player. Daniel even still has the humility to talk with his fans about how they will be able to advance their own game.
Howard Lederer
Known as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker pro Annie Duke. His success has lead to him making an educational video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also hosting a tournament poker show for Fox. As of 2005, his complete life earnings surpass 2.7 million dollars.
Scotty Nguyen
Scott is one of the busiest players in professional poker and between 2000 to 2004 he placed in the money in excess of 100 events. He’s notorious for saying "yeah baby" during poker matches and also coined the phrase "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad beat. As of 2006, his career winnings are just about $6 million.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has won five World Series of Poker titles with two of his wins coming in 2003. Has the nickname "Jesus" because of his trademark long hair and beard, along with his ability to throw cards quick enough to cut through pickles and bananas. As of Two Thousand and Five his total live poker tournament winnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
