In texas hold’em, the first step is to get the game started, and for this the competitors put out a particular total of cash. ‘Posting the blinds’ is the commonly used phrase for this play. In the following step, the dealer shuffles the deck of cards and gives out two cards face down to each player. A normal deck of fifty two cards is used in the deal. After the deal, there is the initial sequence of betting. This sequence is typically referred to as a "pre-flop".

After the 1st betting round, the first card of the deck is thrown away. This tossed aside card is known as the "burn card", and this is performed to ensure there is definitely no treachery. The next three cards are then flipped face up on the poker table. These cards are referred to as ‘the flop’. Now comes a second sequence of wagering, after that the dealer tosses out another card and turns over one more card onto the poker table. Following this, participants can employ the sixth card to create a five-card poker hand.

Another round of betting follows, and in a number of styles of poker, here is where the bet amount increases. There is another round of throwing away a card, and a last placing of a card face-up on the poker table. This is called the "river". Players can now employ any of the five cards on the table, or the two cards that they are holding, to assemble a five-card poker hand.

To finish it up there’s a further round of wagering. After that, all the players remaining begin to display their hands. This is known as the "showdown". Clearly, the bettor who holds the greatest hand wins. When gamblers have tied hands a sharing of the winnings is used.
